Cow Nirvana
Midginbil Prime Angus cow and calves
Midginbil pastures with lush grass
Sides of beef available for families.
Midginbil Hill is located in probably the best beef growing area in NSW - the south arm of the Tweed Valley.
With NSW’s highest annual rainfall and fertile volcanic soils our 400 acre property can support high protein grasses all year round.
The natural pastures have been over sown with kikuyu, seteria and vigna, and this combined with deliberate under grazing means our cows and calves are always in great condition.
When coupled with our steep mountainous country, the calves have the perfect balance of muscle and fat for Aussie palettes – lightly marbled with about 6-8mm of body fat.
Throw away your steak knives !!!
This beef is likely to be more tender and sweeter than you will have tasted before. The meat literally pulls apart with two forks!!
We have seen Tweed Vealer Angus retail for $50 kilo at the Ferry Road gourmet food markets.
Why buy tough old cows from the supermarkets when you can buy prime quality beef at far cheaper prices!!!
Whole vealer carcasses are $9 kilo,
Half vealer carcasses are $10 kilo
As a guide, whole carcasses are around $900 and you receive around $1900-$2000 of meat at current average prices* and halves are around $500 for approx $950- $1000 of meat.
That’s around half price for the sweetest beef you have probably ever eaten!! You can buy cheaper sides of beef, but they are generally from older cows and can be as tough as old boots.
If you don’t have a chest freezer, then do what we did and buy a second hand one for $100 from the Tender Centre or Trading Post – you are still saving $100s on your first beast and the savings continue to grow from there.
Honestly once you have tried this beef – you will never go back to substandard supermarket beef again.
Our carcasses arrive direct from the Casino abattoir with formal identification numbers at a leading Murwillumbah butcher.
Individually packaged and labeled
All cuts of meat are individually packaged and labeled ready for your freezer so you know exactly what you are getting by weight.
This includes prime steaks ( approx 30%), roasts (30%) and stewing steak, sausages and mince (40%). Individual butchering orders are catered for.
Generally turnover time is 10 days if calves are available.
We require a prepaid deposit of $300 for halves and $600 for wholes with the balance payable on the final weight of meat collected from the butcher at pick up.
It’s so easy to enjoy the most succulent of meats at half price – simply contact us (below) to place your order and we will then contact you to arrange a suitable time for collection.
