Coming from the north (QLD) via the Gold
Coast:
- Take the Pacific Highway from Brisbane or the Gold Coast and exit
left at the Tweed Valley Way exit to Murwillumbah, and continue south until you reach Murwillumbah.
- Turn right at the main roundabout. Murwillumbah Railway Station
is on left, and Tourist Information Centre is on right.
- Cross the bridge over the Tweed River and continue straight through
the next 2 roundabouts past the Services Club and Sunnyside Shopping
Centre (Coles) on the left. Take 2nd left turn into Riverview St, the main road
to Kyogle, Mt Warning, Uki and Nimbin, which are signposted.
- A couple of kilometres out of Murwillumbah you pass through Bray
Park. Continue on the Kyogle Road and cross the Tweed River again,
over a concrete bridge which replaced the low-level
wooden bridge a few years ago. (The adjacent park shelter is made from recycled joists.)
- Approximately 15 kilometres from Murwillumbah you will pass through
the village of Uki. From this point your mobile phone may
not work.
- Continue through Uki heading towards Kyogle for another 11 kilometres
and watch for a signpost to Doon Doon Road.
- Turn left into Doon Doon Road, which is signposted
as follows:
- Cram's Farm Recreation Area 7
- Midginbil 2
- Doon Doon 6
- You will see our large MIDGINBIL HILL COUNTRY RESORT sign
on the corner.
- Follow this road for 2.5 kilometres and turn right at the bus stop
into Midginbil Road. MIDGINBIL HILL COUNTRY RESORT sign is
on the left.
- We are
2.5 kilometres from the turnoff into Midginbil Road. Drive up
to the Carpark and check in to Reception at the Homestead to
the right of the Lodge Accommodation. View
Local Map
- If coming from the north there are several options available, however
you need a good map of S.E. Qld and a good navigator. The road across
the Numinbah Valley is very scenic and the one through Currumbin
Valley to Murwillumbah is also very pretty. They are not the most
direct or fastest route.
Coming from the south (NSW) via Brunswick
Heads:
- From the new motorway, turn right off the motorway,
onto the Tweed Valley Way (Old Pacific Highway) just
after Brunswick Heads.
The
road sign should indicate Murwillumbah.
- Travel along Tweed Valley
Way (Old Pacific Highway) through MoobaIl and Burringbar and over
the Burringbar Range.
- As you are coming down out of the Burringbar Range approximately
5 km's north of Burringbar (at the bottom of the hill) turn left
at
Stokers
Siding Pottery sign to Stokers Siding.
- At Stokers Siding turn left across the Railway Line (Smith's Creek
Road) and continue to the "T" Intersection on the Murwillumbah/Kyogle
Road at Uki.
- Turn left into Uki.
- Continue through Uki heading towards Kyogle for another 11 kilometres
and turn left into Doon Doon Road, which is signposted as follows:
- Cram's Farm Recreation Area 7
- Midginbil 2
- Doon Doon 6
- You will see our large MIDGINBIL HILL COUNTRY RESORT sign
on the corner.

Local Map
- If coming from the south via Casino and Lismore, there are several
options available, however you need a good map of N.E. NSW and a
good navigator.
The
road from Lismore and Nimbin is is very scenic
and the one through Kyogle to Murwillumbah is also very
pretty. (See directions via
West)
